Twitter is my favorite social media. There is always something entertaining on there. However, if you're not following the right people it can be very inappropriate. This is the same reason I deleted mine. So many people posted stuff that was inappropriate, I did not want to be tied in with that for various reasons, mostly because I am entering the job force in a year or two. So my advice to everyone is to be careful with personal Twitters. I do think you can use a personal Twitter to your advantage, however in terms of businesses Twitter can be great.

Twitter has continued to grow and has become very popular. Its a a great way to keep up with friends, family, celebrities, and businesses/organizations. It has very distinctive characteristic about it that makes it unique like hashtags #, using the @ symbol in reference to people, you can like, favorite, retweet, and each post is limited to 140 characters.

If you are a business, the cool thing is you can see how many people are following you and how many you are following and when you post you can see the feedback. Its great simple way to show new products, which can be done through ads, post, messages, or retweets.
